Every DJ has their own way of dealing with song requests, and while I'm not a huge fan (or a fan at all for that matter) of the Gaga/Perry/Britney tracks that dominate the radio waves, at the Ridgewood Social Club, I've got no problem spinning their devilish mashup counterparts. After, and I quote, sending chills through the spines of a few exotic dervishes, I figured that it was time to go public with my chick pop mashup set, which has been aptly renamed to 'Mashing for the Ladies'. Because I mean really, isn't it all about getting them on the dance floor in the first place?

Thanks again to everyone who braved it out in the brutal heat at the Black Squirrel this weekend - I promise that this week's line-up of Ridgewood Social Club gigs will be at much cooler venues (literally). If you're around on Thursday night, Basscamp and I will be kicking off #cautiondc at Bourbon in Adams Morgan, and then on Saturday night I'll be rejoining DJ Eskay at Third Edition in Georgetown, so brace yourself for a full weekend of mashups!
