Merry Moombahton everyone! DJ Basscamp back again to give you your week's fix of this wild genre. Although only in its enfant stage, Moombahton has made a meteoric rise to fame around the world thanks to the work of an amazing (albeit few) group of producers. Below, I've included my newest summer mix, which highlights some of the most unique tracks that the genre has to offer.
Beginning with my absolute favorite, Alex Clare's Up All Night remixed by Nadastrom, the mix travels through all corners of the genre. From Dillon Francis' amazing Moombahton remix of Feel So Close by Calvin Harris, to Heartbreak's dirty Moombahcore version of Emalkay's When I Look At You, to Tactic's oh-so-sweet Moombahsoul sampling of Luther Ingram's If Loving You Is Wrong (I Don't Want To Be Right), this mix is made for your friends who keep asking, "What the hell is Moombahton?" I've also included a Moombahton remix that I just completed of Chiddy Bang's Mind Your Manners. My belief about remixing is that the remixer should make sure to preserve the best parts of the original song, but take the entire track in a completely different direction otherwise. This is my first real stab at production, so I'm hoping I stuck to that principle and I'm excited to hear what you think.
