So I'm not really sure how to begin describing the 6 hour face-melting, jive-inducing rage fest that was Bootie NYC, but I wouldn't be here if I wasn't going to at least take a crack at it. What started in Williamsburg as an East Coast vs. West Coast mashup battle, boasting heavyweight contenders DJ Lobsterdust (nyc) and Bootie founders A + Plus D (sf), quickly turned into a chaotic orgy of pastie-clad strippers, tonsil hockey, pop beats and of course, Michael Jackson. Maybe it was the Charlie Sheen-like coke binge going on in the bathroom all night, or maybe it was Lobsterdust's epic hour-long set that won it for the East Coast, but the DJs turned Brooklyn upside down in the godly name of mashups. It's 48 hours later and I can still hear Party Ben's Duck Sauce vs Michael Jackson mashup ringing in my ears......until next time.
